Mountain Hut (1050 mt)
The walk to Santa Maria dei Monti was a milestone in Saint Alfonso’s spiritual path. There, a 16th century wooden statue representing the Virgin Mary, kept in a little chapel at 1050 mt above sea level, inspired the Saint for his evangelization work. Today in the place where the chapel was there is a refuge, while the statue is kept in the Monastery of Redemptorist fathers and it is a pilgrimage destination. The walk up to the plateau is widely rewarded by the silence of nature and the wonderful view of the whole Coast as far as Punta Licosa.
