Museum | Piazza Duomo

Located inside the Ravello Cathedral, the "Opera Duomo Museum", opened in 1983. It is located in the ancient crypt of the basilica, in a room placed next to the right aisle, covered by barrel vaults resting on granite columns. It keeps classical and medieval works, urns, sarcophagi, sculptures, mosaics, stone ornaments and silver artefacts, precious testimonials of the Faith which inspired the aristocratic families of Ravello in the past centuries, generous commissioners of outstanding masterpieces. In particular the Museum preserves the portrait of Sigilgaida Rufolo, engraved in 1272 by Nicola di Bartolomeo da Foggia. The Museum opening time is 09.00 am - 19.00 pm.
